Support the 2025 Canadian Geographic Polar Plunge!
This year we are joined by notable Canadians, explorers, adventurers and RCGS Fellows. The #CanGeoPolarPlunge will help the Society raise important funding for the rich storytelling and engaging interviews that take place under the banner of Canadian Geographic and the Explore podcast.
Our goal is to raise $30,000! With your help we can continue to expand Canadians’ knowledge of our country’s diverse human and physical landscapes, better preparing them for an uncharted future.

Be Like the Bear!

You see this Polar Bear dipping its hefty paw into the icy frigid Arctic waters? That photo was from a ship trip I took to Svalbard in 2013. Today we celebrate International Polar Bear Day and I could not be happier to call out the amazing work of 2 organizations I care deeply about Polar Bears International and the Royal Canadian Geographical Society( RCGS)
In honor of Int'l Polar Bear day I have decided to “be like the bear” and dip my teeny toes into the frigid, non-icy waters on Vancouver Island in support of the annual RCGS/Canadian Geographic Polar Plunge. As a proud fellow of the RCGS and a Canadian explorer there is still so much of this amazing country to explore and understand and that is exactly what Canadian Geographic does. They are dedicated to uncovering and communicating stories about Canadian people, places, and issues that matter.
I know there are so many things to care about today so if you cannot donate maybe you would consider polar plunging from wherever you are and if you do- send me a pic and I will post on my fundraising page.
