This year we are joined by notable Canadians, explorers, adventurers and RCGS Fellows. The #CanGeoPolarPlunge will help the Society raise important funding for the rich storytelling and engaging interviews that take place under the banner of Canadian Geographic and the Explore podcast.

Our goal is to raise $30,000! With your help we can continue to expand Canadians’ knowledge of our country’s diverse human and physical landscapes, better preparing them for an uncharted future.

It Will Feel Great!

If you have never participated in a Polar Plunge, trust me, it will feel great! There is a huge rush that comes from gathering with friends for a great cause. True, the water is cold, but we will leave with warm hearts, envigorated by supporting a great organization and outreach!

Taking the Dive

Tuesday 25th Feb
I've spent much of my career exploring some of the coldest places on Earth. From being the first to cave dive inside icebergs to plunging into Arctic waters to film polar bears, you might assume a simple polar dip in my bathing suit would be effortless. But the truth is, even in my own backyard, I ease into the water just as cautiously as anyone else. I'll take the plunge for the RCGS—but not without a big squeal!
